Curriculum – PMBA Evening Cohort

The PMBA Evening Cohort curriculum is designed to give you a solid understanding of business foundations while allowing you to dig deeper into those principles and skills that you have the most need for.

This 53 semester-credit-hour program features an evening curriculum that you complete in 24 months. You have the option to study at a slower pace and complete the program in 36 months. Each cohort of students starts the program in August. Every cohort follows a lock-step progression of core courses throughout the program, taking all core classes together on Monday and Wednesday evenings after 5 p.m.

The MBA degree is obtained by completing the 53 hour program, consisting of 32 hours of core courses and 21 hours of elective courses.

Prerequisites

Four semester credit hours

Students pursuing the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree program at the Naveen Jindal School of Management (JSOM) are required to complete the following prerequisites:

  • OPRE 6303 Quantitative Foundation of Business
  • MAS 6105 Communications for Management

For OPRE 6303, applicants may request for waiver if they have completed calculus at the undergraduate or graduate level with a grade of “B” or better. For MAS 6105, applicants may request a waiver through the forms page of the advising website. The waiver can be obtained by showing proficiency in writing, speaking and creating an effective LinkedIn profile. The OPRE 6303 requirement must be satisfied within the first semester of graduate study, and the MAS 6105 requirement must be satisfied within the first two semesters of study. Degree credit is not earned for program prerequisites, however, the grade achieved in prerequisites taken at UT Dallas will count toward the student’s grade-point average (GPA).
