Frequently Asked Questions

General MBA Information

Our Full-Time MBA program is 18 months long, although students have the option off adding an additional semester in the spring of their second year. In many cases, this is because students are adding an additional MS degree but can also be that they want to take a slower pace or extend their internship past the summer semester.

You can find a list of our current MBA program rankings at the Naveen Jindal School of Management Rankings Page.

You can choose from a variety of concentrations – visit the MBA Concentrations Page for a complete list. Please note concentrations are unofficial (9-12 semester credit hours) and not published on your transcript or diploma. Concentrations are not declared. MBA students can select up to two concentrations.

UT Dallas awards all MBA’s the same diploma that states, “Master of Business Administration.” The diploma does not mention the school name and program format.

Please review the Course Catalog for a list of electives.

Please review the MBAs degree plan here: MBA Degree Plan for a full list of courses in this concentration.

  • The double MS/MBA program allows students to earn a combination of a master’s level specialist degree and an MBA together.
  • Both degrees separately, require 89 credit hours, but in the joint program, students can earn both degrees with a reduced number of credits, a minimum of 63 semester credit hours.
  • Full-Time MBA and Professional Evening Cohort students do not apply for the MS program until the second or third semester of their MBA program.
  • Additionally, we have an MD/MBA option for current medical students and residents who wish to join our Full-Time Program.

These students typically join us for their MBA between their 2nd and 3rd year of medical school, or in residency. They complete the Full-Time MBA curriculum in three semesters.
